Kristen,VBS(vacation bible school) is available for Catholic Churches. It’s whether there is an active youth ministry at the church that will run it. We ran it while my children were growing up and it was huge! There was always a good 150 kids attending. Awesome games, great catchy music and chanting. Water games, food and snacks. The Catholic faith can be as fun as you want, put the energy in and you’ll have fun. I promise!

I have no problem being ignorant, because I like to learn.😊

Read Coddling of the American Mind. My husband and I read this when it came out. Our son is 16. We incorporated a ton from this book. We’re constantly “fighting” phone time. He plays no video games, has no social media. His time is taken up with texting and RUclips, and we’re often saying, “Hey, maybe put the phone down?” It’s a struggle.

I grew up in Lincoln in the 60s and 70s, and I started going to sleepovers in second grade. We had one girl in our group, Toni, whose dad would spend the night toilet papering people's houses and just hanging out with us. It seemed a bit odd, but we kept going there. When I think back, it was more than a bit odd! I also somehow convinced my parents that it was a good idea to let me, my friends, and fellow junior high boys go to a closed camp (Kitaki) in the winter with a male college student for our chaperone! Gotta love the 60s and 70s! Hey, Jen. As an Offutt child, did you ever go to Merritt Beach? It was a big fly-boy hangout supposedly fashioned after Venice Beach. They had weights and trampolines and surfboards (on the Platte, I think). So much fun. Not a mom, but I love you ladies. Hope to see you at The Lied again sometime. I went alone and had a great time.
